Who is responsible
AI Image Label (aiimagelabel.eu) is published by SWNG, 66 rue de Rome, 75008 Paris, France, which is responsible for the processing described on this page (the “data controller”). You can reach us at hello@aiimagelabel.eu. Our company details are in the legal notice.
Your images
When you add images to AI Image Label, your own browser opens them, draws the icon you chose and makes the labelled copies, using your device's processing power. Your images are never sent to our server or to anyone else's. We never see, store or have access to them, nor to their names, their contents or their metadata.
The creator and copyright found in a picture's metadata, which the copy keeps, are read in your browser too. The copy leaves out the original's camera data and location.
Your images stay in your browser's memory while the page is open, and are discarded when you close or reload it. The files you download are saved by your browser, on your device.
The page's security settings back this up: it can only run its own code and load files from this website, its image processing can't connect anywhere, and the only address the page may send anything to is our own audience measurement, described below, which never receives images.
Settings saved on your device
To save you time on your next visit, the tool remembers your label settings in your browser's local storage, under the name “ai-image-label:settings”: the icon, the colour, the position, the size, the distance from the edges, and whether “Clear of app buttons on tall images” and “Add the machine-readable AI tag” are on.
These settings stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can delete them at any time by clearing this website's data in your browser's settings.
Audience measurement, without cookies
We count visits ourselves, on our own server, with Ahoy, an open-source analytics library. It tells us how many people use AI Image Label, where they come from and which pages they read, so we can improve the site. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. A visit is recognised for up to 4 hours from your IP address, with its last part removed, and your browser's user agent (the description it gives of itself). This works site by site: if you also visit another of SWNG's websites, nothing links the two.
What is recorded:
- the pages you visit and their language, the page that brought you here and any campaign tags in the address;
- your browser, operating system and type of device;
- your IP address, with its last part removed;
- two events from the tool: images added, with how many, and downloads, with how many, whether as a ZIP, and which icon and position were used.
Never your images, their names or their contents.
Legal basis, retention and recipients
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used, to improve it (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR)
- Where it is kept
- In our own database, at our host Scalingo, in France
- How long
- 13 months at most, then deleted
- Who receives it
- No one else. It isn't used for advertising, or to follow you on other websites.
There is no cookie banner because this site sets no cookie, and because this measurement is designed to stay within the exemption from consent that the CNIL, the French data protection authority, allows for audience measurement: it only measures this site's audience, for us alone, is used for statistics, follows no one across websites and is shared with no one. Your label settings, kept on your device, only serve the tool you are using.
Not counted, if you prefer
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, a privacy setting some browsers offer, your visits aren't counted at all: no visit, no event. You can also object to this measurement at any time by writing to hello@aiimagelabel.eu.
Server logs
Like any website, the server keeps technical logs when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and, depending on the host's settings, your browser type and the referring page. They are used only to keep the service running and secure, for example to investigate errors or abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). Our host, Scalingo SAS, 15 avenue du Rhin, 67100 Strasbourg, France, keeps them for one year on its servers in France, then deletes them. They aren't used to identify or profile visitors.
If you write to us
If you email us, we use your address and your message only to answer you, and keep them no longer than that conversation needs.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can also set out instructions for what happens to your data after your death. To exercise these rights, write to hello@aiimagelabel.eu. We answer within one month.
Complaints
If you believe your rights aren't respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr), or with the data protection authority of the EU country where you live or work.
Changes
If the way AI Image Label works changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
